HB-IFA (Graubünden) was acquired factory in July 1966 by Swissair.
Already in September 1968 but was sold again. It quickly became apparent that this first version of the DC-9 was too small for the Swissair.

An anecdote:
The aircraft experienced a rather eventful history.
It was sold between Swissair and Douglas back and forth, respectively. rented, before finally coming to Forbes Magazine as executive jet, was followed by other owners in the US. From 1989 - 1995 (! So nearly 30 years after the first flight), the aircraft flew again in Switzerland with its old registration HB-IFA in Areoleasing.
In 2004, the machine should have been involved in illegal transactions ........
40 years ........ a long time for a small plane
