I have ordered this car directly at the Brabus factory in Bottrop (Germany). I did not know what to expect because I ordered it online ( and there was little information about it on their site. I already had seen the Hotworks kit with the SLK55 and the tuning set (Lorinser or Brabus), but they did not mention this on the site. Very fast shipping service..

The car came in a black box, with a plastic around protecting it. The text on the box said it was based on the SLK55, so at that moment I already knew it had to be manufactured by Hotworks

At first sight the car looks great, smooth paint job and good looking chrome work. The car has a working roof, but the whole cunstruction of folding it in or out is a little fragile and not as easy to do compared to Minichamps SLK. It took me quite some time to figure it out....Brabus foglights and ofcourse a big 'B' at the front...

Nicely done interior, but not as detailed as the PMA. The car comes with three separate carpets, all with the Brabus logo. Two for the cockpit and one that fits the trunk. Nice detailed two toned seats with visible airscarf and again a Brabus logo imprinted on the head/necksupport. Chrome rollbars.

Detailed engine compartment, though it exists out of one plastic plate. Different coloring of the engine block and Brabus labeling everywhere.
This car has a nice gadget. At the bottom of the car you can find 4 screws, to in the front and two in the back. With a screwdriver (fixed at the bottom of the baseplate that carries the car) you car change the ride height of the car and the camber of the tires.

Realistic Xenon headlights. Attachmentpoints visible on the rear lights....

Afterall a nice addition that deserves a place next to my two Maisto SLK's and one Minichamps. I did not know what to expect from Hotworks and I'm quite happy with it. Better than the Maisto, but still no Minichamps. I could give this car a 7/10 because of the crappy folding mechanism.
