When it came to Bentley, Franay didn't restrain in creating one of the most flamboyant British cars. They went the opposite direction of typical Bentley design and created one of the most daring cars of the post-war era. Exaggerated curves and chrome accents were the theme.

The first Franay cabriolet was ordered by French industrialist Monsieur Gudol on chassis B25071. At the 1947 Paris Auto Show, the dramatic design reasserted French's dominance of the coachbuilding art. In 1948 it became a champion at the Enghien Concours d'Elegance on the 12th of June. The following weekend it was displayed at the Bois de Bolougne show.

At Barret-Jackson's 2006 Palm Springs auction, B25071 was offered from the collection of Gary Wales and sold for a record ,728,000 USD plus commission to Ron Pratte. This made it the most valuable postwar Bentley on the planet.

A Franay Bentley was built in 1947 for A.J. Leichi of Saint Louis in eastern France. He purchased it to tour the African Continent and later registered it in France in the 1960s with the plate 725-JT-75.

After being purchased at auction in 2000 by the Gene and Marlene Epstein Collection, the second Franay cabriolet was exhaustively restored with 8000 hours of labor. During this process the ash frame holding the body was recreated and two years were spent on the body metal alone. Painted triple brown, the resultant restored car is stunning.
