BMW M6 Cabrio F12 – Background on the original and the generation

The model this is based on is the BMW M6 Cabrio of the F12 family, the open high‑performance version of the 6 Series. The F12 generation was built from 2012–2018. The BMW M6 Cabrio used the Biturbo V8 S63B44T0, a 4.4‑liter (268.5 cubic inches) engine with direct injection and water‑cooled charge air coolers. In standard form it made 412 kW (560 PS) and 680 Nm (~501 lb‑ft); later Competition versions went up to 441 kW (600 PS). Power was sent mainly through a 7‑speed M dual‑clutch gearbox with Drivelogic, paired with an active M differential. Factory 0–100 km/h (0–62 mph) was about 4.3 s, electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 mph); with the M Driver’s Package it could reach 305 km/h (190 mph). The M6 Cabrio followed the E64 M6 (V10 S85), so you can see the shift from a high‑revving naturally aspirated engine to a turbo V8. Styling development was led by Adrian van Hooydonk; the 6 Series F12 exterior is often credited to Nader Faghihzadeh, while the M‑specific tweaks were handled by engineers at BMW M GmbH under Friedrich Nitschke. Key technical bits of the BMW M6 Cabrio include adaptive M suspension, variable damping, M Servotronic steering, optional carbon‑ceramic brakes and LED headlights. The soft top has a heated glass rear window, is three‑layered and is designed for year‑round use.

The shown 1/18 scale model – Paragon base and important notes

The photos show a model from collector “Bmw‑M‑Fan”. It’s a 1/18 scale model originally made by Paragon Models. The material is classic diecast metal, so the bodywork and gaps are nicely stable. Important: this particular example has been heavily modified and is not the factory stock product from Paragon Models. The changes include visible body add‑ons, lowered ride height and different wheels. Collectors should note that parts like the front splitter, the lowered stance or the rims are not the Paragon delivery state. For context: it’s a 1/18 scale Paragon Models piece but modified afterward. The miniature keeps the overall proportions of the BMW M6 Cabrio well — long hood, short rear overhang, wide track — and the double kidney grilles, side gills and headlight shape pick up the car’s typical design cues.

Visible mods, paint and the vibe of the collectible

The pics show the car with the top down and a beige interior, which matches the basic layout of the BMW M6 Cabrio. What’s obvious, though, are the heavy mods: the body sits very low, indicating a changed suspension setup on the model; there’s noticeable negative camber at the rear. A black front splitter is mounted up front, which isn’t part of the standard Paragon kit. The wheels have a deep dish look and a multi‑piece appearance; there’s no clear maker visible in the photos, so I won’t name any brands. The paint looks like a glossy solid white that contrasts with black add‑ons like the splitter and grille inserts. M badges are reproduced on the grille and fenders, as you’d expect on a BMW M6 Cabrio. The plate “M WF 1407” hints at BMW origins. Inside you can see four seats, a center console with a nav screen and the typical M steering wheel, all helping the tiny car read as an M6 Cabrio. Despite the drop, the side skirts and the muscular front bumper are still visible. Overall the model has a clear “stance” style — but that’s the owner’s interpretation, not how Paragon sold it.

Tech and collector info for model fans

For collectors: the real BMW M6 Cabrio had a curb weight just under two tonnes (about 4,400 pounds) and was engineered for high‑load driving with active cooling flaps and an oil cooling circuit. The diecast model from Paragon Models captures those proportions solidly and makes a good base for modifications like the one on this piece. The owner’s approach — extreme lowering, wide wheels and a front splitter — shows a personal stance vibe; there’s no sign in the photos of a specific tuning company, so no brand names are given. If you’re after the stock Paragon release, look for the regular production version; if you want a base for your own custom work, the sturdy diecast construction is a good starting point. This particular item remains a custom piece in the collection of “Bmw‑M‑Fan”, showing the BMW M6 Cabrio styling in 1/18 while also reflecting the owner’s personal taste.
