This is Lada 2102 Taxi. The model is made by Agat in scale 1:43 after The Fall of The Soviet Union. On the model both the trunk and the hood opens. I use a lot of time to research information about the real vehicles and I have also friends who have a lot of knowledge about these vehicles.
Therefore I can say for sure that the information about the real vehicle is right.
The AvtoVaz/Lada 2102 was a Soviet rear-wheel drive car with an estate style body. It was produced at the Togliatti Automobile Plant from 1971 to 1986. It is a licensed version of the Fiat 124 Familiare, with numerous changes to suit use in the Soviet sphere of influence. Uprated rear suspensions were fitted to allow the car to have a higher carrying capacity and to allow for its increased weight over the saloon version.
The first AvtoVaz/Lada 2102 came off the assembly line of at the Togliatti plant in 1971. When the AvtoVaz/Lada Saloon was updatedto the 2105 in 1980 the 2102 continued in production and overlapped the initial production of its successor, the AvtoVaz/Lada 2104, introduced in 1984. The AvtoVaz/Lada 2102 was finally withdrawn from production in 1986. In all 666,989 of the 2102 Estate car were produced.
The Estate version of the car was very popular with city dwellers who were lucky enough to have a weekend Dacha and who could transport lots in an estate car without the need to attach a trailer. It was also built to cope with starting at temperatures down to -30 and was fitted with an efficient heater. Sadly as Western owners who used them on salted roads found out the cars were vulnerable to rusting. The Western buyers also enjoyed head rests, rear window washer and wiper, and other accessories as standard fitments.
