This is KIM 10 - 50. The model is made in limited edition of DiP Models in scale 1:43 in 2496 pieces. This model has number 600. At the car factory in Moscow named after KIM, a design department was set up under the leadership of AN Ostrovtsev, a specialist of NATI (NAMI), where a compact car KIM-10 was designed (in two versions - since KIM-10 -50 and convertible KIM-10 -51). In 1939, the British model Ford Prefect was taken as a basis. Soviet engineers from that time were well acquainted with the characteristics of Ford's cars produced under a license to GAZ and Prefect for the event of the chassis and many other units looked much like the reduced version of the larger models of this company. About 500 cars in both versions were made. There were plans for mass production of this car, but they were interrupted by the beginning of the war. Officially, KIM-10 was never put on sale, and single cars are currently preserved at various museums. The appearance of KIM-10 compared to the British prototype was sufficiently modernized. Nevertheless, according to the standards in the early 40's, the car was in the best conservative manner, and the same could be said about its total part. The latter, however, fully responded to the conditions for the production and operation of cars in the pre-war period of the Soviet Union, while design positively resembled other Soviet passenger models emerged in the early mid-thirties. The car hall according to the standards for small cars in these years was spacious and very comfortable, had a comfortable fit and good finish. In general, the car has received a positive evaluation, and nevertheless, the serial car with chassis number 178 in 1941 after order from the Motor Vehicle Board has been subjected to a complete test cycle, including a 4125 km drive along the asphalt of Moscow - Minor highways, cobblestones and dirt roads as well as uneven terrain and impermeability. As a result of the tests, it was expected that the machine that was created for "civil" operating conditions was not strong enough and acceptable, it was not that easy to operate. The official report with a "generally satisfactory" assessment was prepared on June 24, 1941.
