GAZ 14 - 05 Chaika Phaeton was in production from 1981 to 1988. Only 15 cars were produced.
This version was created on the basis of the standard GAZ-14 limousine, commissioned by the USSR Ministry of Defense for military parades. The roof was completely cut, and the supporting system was further strengthened to compensate for the loss of stiffness from the missing roof. Unlike the open version of the GAZ-13B, the GAZ-14-05 did not have a folding top mechanism. The awning could be manually tensioned only over the front seats, and completely covering the passenger seats. It served exclusively for the preventive running of the car during storage. Side windows were only on the front doors. Under the hood was still the same 5.5-liter V8 with a capacity of 220 hp, which clocked the car to 220 km / h. In theory, of course. Phaetons were supposed to travel at pedestrian speeds during parades — more was not required of them. Among the special equipment was a microphone stand for a speakerphone system, a flagpole and a special pen, which allowed it to stand steadily inside the car while driving. All the phaetons were painted in the color of parade uniforms of Soviet generals and marshals.
Released copies of the GAZ-14-05 "Chaika" went to different parts of our planet. The first car produced is stored in the factory museum of GAZ. One phaeton was donated to Fidel Castro and is still in Cuba. A couple more cars were found in Georgia, but in the mid-90s they were sent to Moscow and even participated in the parade of veterans.
