Hot Wheels Boulevard 2006 Honda Civic Si in 1/64 scale

The collectible shown from the Modelly collection of “hwconsign” is a Honda Civic Si from the eighth generation, which was built from 2005 to 2011. More specifically, the body is based on the North American Civic Si coupe version from model year 2006. This diecast model car in 1/64 scale was made by Hot Wheels and belongs to the Boulevard series with Real Riders tires. The mini is packed on a Boulevard card showing an urban street scene. Above the big Hot Wheels logo, it says “Real Riders” and “Metal/Metal,” which points to rubber tires and a build with a metal body and metal base. The miniature is made from diecast, with plastic used visibly for things like the windows, interior details, and tires.

Eighth Civic generation: the Honda Civic Si coupe’s tech

The Honda Civic Si replaced the seventh-generation Civic Si in North America. Unlike the five-door Civic Si offered there before, the new Si came back as a two-door coupe. Its K20Z3 engine is part of Honda’s K20 family: the 1,998 cm³ four-cylinder inline engine makes 197 hp, or about 200 PS, at 7,800 rpm and 188 Nm at 6,100 rpm. The setup includes a DOHC cylinder head, i-VTEC valve control, electronic throttle, and a six-speed manual transmission with a limited-slip differential. Up front it uses MacPherson struts, while the rear has an independent suspension with a double-wishbone layout; disc brakes, ABS, and stability control depending on the market rounded out the package. It rode on a newly developed Civic platform with a low hood line and a windshield stretched far forward.

Motorsport use of the Honda Civic Si in touring car classes

In motorsport, the Honda Civic Si was used mostly in North American production and touring car series. Its near-stock front-wheel-drive layout, manual gearbox, and easy parts availability made it a good fit for class rules that tightly controlled displacement, minimum weight, and modifications. Teams ran Civic Si coupes in SCCA-style racing, club events, and endurance formats. The cars were fitted with race suspension, roll cages, racing brakes, tuned engine management, and safety gear. The basic formula stayed obvious: compact coupe body, front-wheel drive, and a K20 four-cylinder. Results depended a lot on the class, season, and homologation, but the Honda Civic Si was a regular presence on the grid for several years.

Especially in the Grand-Am Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge, later the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge, Honda Civic Si race cars were fielded by teams like Compass360 Racing. Drivers such as Karl Wittmer, Pierre Kleinubing, and Ryan Eversley drove Honda programs and touring car or endurance class cars in different series. Ryan Eversley is also well known for lots of drives in Honda and Acura cars in North American racing. In club and amateur motorsport, the Honda Civic Si was also popular because the suspension, brakes, and engine management could be adjusted within the rules. These racing efforts also explain why Hot Wheels gave the mini a number, side graphics, and a low, street-racer look, without presenting it as a copy of one specific documented race car.

Green Hot Wheels mini with number 13 and black graphics

This model car in 1/64 scale was made by Hot Wheels and shows the Honda Civic Si in a metallic, sparkling green. The paint has fine glitter particles and shifts from yellow-green to a strong green depending on the light. On both sides there’s a black, angular graphic: it starts near the front fender, runs across the door, and ends in layered shapes behind the B-pillar. The number “13” appears on the door in black outline, with two black slanted bars below it. The 2006 Honda Civic Si features a custom motorsport-styled rear wing, custom body kit, a ventilated bonnet and gives a lower ride height. It debuted alongside its real-life counterpart, which is the eighth generation of the Civic, it was produced from 2005 to 2012.


The base of the casting reads 2006 Honda Civic Si on most versions; the base simply reads Honda Civic Si on the first release.


Two types of interior variations can be found on this casting; rounded racing seats or "pointy" racing seats.
