This collectible shown here from Modelly member Marcello is clearly based on the BMW M5 CS from the F90 series. This generation of the BMW M5 is the 6th generation (F90) and was built from 2017 to 2023. Its predecessor was the BMW M5 from the F10 series, which was still offered without xDrive. The BMW M5 CS was a particularly lightweight and high-performance version within the F90 lineup. The original was powered by a 4.4-liter V8 twin-turbo engine with the internal code S63, combined with an 8-speed M Steptronic and the variable M xDrive all-wheel-drive system. Output was 635 hp, with peak torque of 750 Nm. BMW quoted a 0 to 100 km/h sprint in 3.0 seconds, and top speed was 305 km/h (189.5 mph) with the M Driver’s Package. It was developed under the responsibility of BMW M GmbH; the head designer of BMW for this period was Domagoj Dukec, while the technical layout of the M models was closely tied to the development teams at BMW M GmbH in Garching.
The BMW M5 CS differed from the regular M5 and the M5 Competition in several technical and visual ways. The concept included weight reduction through CFK components such as the hood, roof, front splitter, rear spoiler, and parts of the interior. On top of that, the BMW M5 CS got a specific setup for the suspension, engine mounts, and xDrive control. Visually, there were also gold-colored details, including the kidney grille frame, side gills, and often the wheels too. The braking system could be fitted with carbon-ceramic brakes; typical visual clues are the large drilled brake discs and colored brake calipers. Inside, there were four individual seats with strong bolstering, M-specific displays, and a cockpit layout focused on the driver. In the photos of the model, the CS version’s features are easy to spot: a black roof section, a sporty front bumper, a small rear spoiler on the trunk lid, red brake calipers, and the typical four-door sedan shape of the F90. The proportions, with the long hood, clear shoulder line, and short rear, are what make the original such a recognizable high-performance sedan based on the 5 Series.
This model car is in 1/18 scale and is made by GT Spirit. The miniature is made of resin, meaning synthetic resin, which is often used in collector models for clean surface details and sharp body lines. At the same time, you can see from the photos that this model uses a sealed-body construction, which is typical for resin models. The paint finish is a matte to satin green that resembles the special color known on the real car as “Frozen Deep Green metallic.” It also comes with gold-colored wheels, gold-colored trim around the front grille and side gills, and a black roof. That color combination matches the known presentation of the BMW M5 CS very closely. The badges are also done properly: the BMW emblem is visible at the front, and the model name “M5 CS” can be seen at the rear. The taillights, black window surrounds, and contoured hood with its lines are clearly shown in the photos. You can also spot red seat belts or red accents in the interior, which point to the sporty nature of the original. This model car in 1/18 scale, made by GT Spirit, is aimed at collectors looking for modern BMW M models in a fixed display version.
What matters to collectors is the production run: limited to 2,400 pieces worldwide. That means this model is issued as a limited edition. The wheels visible in the photos formally follow the style of the CS wheels used on the real car; no specific aftermarket brand or clearly identifiable tuning company can be confirmed from the images alone, so this description stays with the BMW CS design. What stands out is the well-matched reproduction of the surfaces and transitions: the side view shows the tense, athletic lines of the F90, while the front with its large air intakes and distinctive grille clearly captures the character of the BMW M5 CS. In the rear section, you can see the small spoiler, the wide shoulders, and the four tailpipes. For display in a case, the color combination also makes a big difference: the matte green together with the gold wheels and black trim creates a strong contrast without needing extra decals. In Marcello’s collection, the model comes across as a modern interpretation of a high-performance sedan with a very believable link to the real car. For searches around BMW M5 CS model car, GT Spirit 1/18, F90 collector model, or resin model, this piece is easy to place, since the photos clearly show many typical details of both the original and the miniature.
