BMW luxury sedan in miniature: the prototype and its place in the lineup

The collectible piece shown here from Modelly member “modelmax” is very likely the BMW i7 xDrive60. The original belongs to the current G70 7 Series, which has been in production since 2022. As the fully electric version, the BMW i7 xDrive60 sits within the lineup alongside the conventionally powered 7 Series variants. The predecessor in BMW’s 7 Series family was the G11/G12 generation, while the i7 was introduced as a dedicated EV version only with the current model range. The exterior design of the G70 series was shaped in part by Domagoj Dukec, who led BMW’s design language during this period. Technically, the BMW i7 xDrive60 uses a 400-volt system, two electric motors, and electric all-wheel drive. System output is 400 kW (544 hp), and peak torque is 745 Nm (549 lb-ft). The usable high-voltage battery capacity is around 101.7 kWh. Depending on equipment and tires, the WLTP driving range is stated to be over 600 kilometers (373 miles). Key features of the original include air suspension on both axles, rear-axle steering, a wide range of driver-assistance systems, and an interior with large digital displays plus an optional 31.3-inch (79.5 cm) Theatre Screen in the rear.

Mini GT 1/64 model car: visible features of the diecast model shown

The model car shown here is a 1/64 scale model from Mini GT. The miniature is finished in pearl white or white metallic and has a black roof with a printed pattern in the area of the panoramic glass roof. That roof treatment is a standout detail because it creates the impression of a large glass roof with a graphic pattern. The body is made from diecast, meaning it is produced using metal casting, which is an important feature for collectors in the compact model car segment. At the front, you can see the large BMW kidney grille, the BMW badge on the hood, and the split lighting signature of the prototype. From the side, the flush door handles, long silhouette, and clearly separated window sections stand out. The doors are closed on the example shown, but the panel gaps are still visible. The multi-spoke wheels in black and silver echo a modern wheel design from the original, although the manufacturer and exact wheel designation can’t be confirmed from the photos alone. Also easy to spot are the dark-tinted windows, the black B- and C-pillars, and the low, stretched roofline.

Paint, proportions, and rear view of the BMW i7 as a collector’s model

The model’s paint has a light metallic effect with fine reflections under the light. Together with the black areas on the roof, window surrounds, and glazing, it creates a strong contrast that suits the look of the BMW i7 xDrive60. Front and rear BMW emblems are present, and at the back you also get the slim tail light elements that are horizontally arranged on the real car. The rear of the model shows the wide, clean tail section with restrained sculpting. That’s typical for the BMW i7 xDrive60, whose body design focuses more on surfaces, proportions, and presence than on lots of individual lines. From a collector’s point of view, it’s interesting that Mini GT has translated the basic shape of the long-wheelbase sedan very convincingly into the 1/64 scale. The side window line with the small rear quarter window and the Hofmeister kink are also there in a simplified but clearly recognizable form. The design looks tidy and well balanced in the photos: front, side profile, roof graphic, and rear all come together to form a consistent overall look that nicely captures the character of this large BMW electric luxury sedan.

Prototype tech and why this matters for collectors of modern BMW 1/64 miniatures

For collectors of modern premium models, the mix of a contemporary vehicle concept and a compact model format is a big part of the appeal. The BMW i7 xDrive60 goes from 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) in about 4.7 seconds and is electronically limited to 240 km/h (149 mph). The original can be charged with AC and DC fast charging; at DC fast chargers, charging power of up to around 195 kW is possible. BMW also built features like automatic maneuvering, lane guidance, parking systems, and an extensive connected operating system into this generation. In markets around the world, the BMW i7 xDrive60 is a good example of how the classic luxury sedan has evolved into the electric age. The model shown here from “modelmax” turns those features into a compact display piece for the shelf. What really stands out are the distinctive front end, the long side profile, the blacked-out roof area, and the clean rear section. That makes the model a solid fit for collections focused on current BMW releases, electric vehicles, or modern long-distance luxury sedans. No clear tuning conversion is visible in the photos, and no specific movie or TV connection can be confirmed. So the main focus here stays on the production car, the BMW i7 xDrive60, and on its miniature version from Mini GT.
