The Honda S800 was the first Japanese sports car to be purchased through a dealer network in Germany. In 1966, the car was presented in Paris at the Automobile Salon, and from December 66 the S800 was available.
Motorization:
800cc displacement, 4 cylinders, 68 hp performance. This was enough to accelerate the 740 kg car to a top speed of 160 km / h.
The tank capacity was 35 liters, the consumption about 9 liters.

Famous was the Honda S800 for its very revolving engine. According to the factory data, a speed of 10'000 rpm was possible.
An anecdote tells that the techn. Braunschweig University wanted to test this on their test bench. The speed was increased more and more until there was a loud bang at 12,000 revolutions. However, it was not the engine of the Honda, but the test rig, which exploded .....

To the model:
Wonderfully detailed model from AUTOart.
The lacquering is error-free, the cleavage mass is extremely low. The engine is perfectly implemented and the interior can easily accommodate with much more expensive models. Chromed trim displays in the chockpit, a wonderfully filigree steering wheel and seats that show a perfect imitation of leather seats (together with "used" structure ...)
There is a roof and there is even an additional sunblind over the windshield.

Perhaps one or the other the vehicle known before ....... in the comic series "Spirou and Fantasio" drive the two leading actor often with a white Honda S800 around.
