The Mercedes 220D, internal name W115, also called "dash 8", is one of the most famous models of Mercedes. This is certainly due to the long life of the vehicles resp. their high mileage. Thus, models with a mileage of over 1 million kilometers are not uncommon.
Was built the vehicle from 1967 resp. 1968 to 1973 in almost unchanged form. The appearance was simple and rather edgy and came almost "bieder" therefore. Despite the car exudes a certain elegance.
Even today you can still find the / 8 on the streets. And very often you see the driver and the "first owner" ....;)

Type220: 4 cylinder diesel with 2 liters of displacement and an output of 60 hp.
Top speed 125 km / h
This was quite underpowered already in the year of this type. But thanks to the Zugfreudigkeit this Mercedes found many fans.
Acceleration: 0-100 km 31 seconds! that was similar to a VW Beetle and brought the / 8 also many nicknames .... "Wanderdüne" "Heizölferrari" etc .....
Despite everything: One of the most popular models, numerous in use as a taxi and indestructible.
The model:
A highlight of AUTOart. Very nice paint job, minimal gap and great details. A special focus is the engine compartment with perfect hinges and a radiator grille that is extremely finely designed.
Special: This model also comes from the collection of Wolfram, so the last photo is kept as a souvenir for him in black and white.
