The Porsche 930, better known as the Porsche 911 Turbo, is a sports car that was produced from 1974 to 1989 based on the Porsche 911.
It was unveiled in 1974 at the Paris Motor Show and was at that time the fastest mass-produced sports car in Germany. The 930 was the first production car from Porsche with a turbocharger (the first German vehicle was the BMW 2002 Turbo). He was the top model of Porsche, which was initially available only as a coupe and from 1987 in the body versions Targa and Cabriolet.
The car was luxuriously equipped. At that time, it cost about 66,000 DM and was thus about 17,000 DM more expensive than, for example, a Ferrari 308. For this purpose, the customers received a vehicle with extensive equipment. The windscreen frames and trims were matt black anodized, the headlight rings and the exterior mirrors were painted in the body color and underlined the sporty character of the 911 Turbo. The standard was a metallic paint, which could be exchanged free of charge when ordering in any other color.
As standard, the car was delivered with 185/70-VR-15 tires on 7J × 15 front rims and 215/60-VR-15 tires on 8J × 15 rear wheels. In order to make traveling with the Porsche as comfortable as possible, the car had an automatically controlled heating, power windows and electrically adjustable front seats. On request, air conditioning was available.
