The Mustang was a great success from the outset. Ford reckoned with approximately 240,000 copies sold. At the end of the first sales year but over 650,000 models were sold, respectively. ordered.
What makes the Mustang was not only the elaborate and sophisticated advertising campaign before and during the launch, but also to the fact that could make his Mustang model according to individual taste with an extensive list of individual extras and equipment packages every customer, whether as simply equipped six-cylinder model, or as a small luxury coupe with a powerful V8 engine.
And so everything was regarding engine almost possible. A 2.8-liter V6 to a 4.7 liter V8 engine with 90-250 hp.
The "Ski Country Special":
For the highly competitive market in 1967, Ford was something special. 10 selected dealers in Denver and surrounding areas received this special series of the Mustang series.
The "Ski Country Special" were equipped with, inter alia, Winter tires, ski racks and a specially lockable rear axle. They came in 5 different colors:
Aspen Red, Blue Vail, Winter Park Turkise, Loveland Green and Yellow Breckenridge
Basically, these were the first known "special editions" of Ford.
How many of these produced special models, respectively. were sold, is not known.
The model:
Beautifully converted model of GreenLight. Interior and engine details are good, but not converted into lush. The overall impression of the beautiful paint, the narrow gaps and the details such as the ski rack and detachable skis make the model but exceptional.
The contamination has been mounted by myself for outdoor photos , but can always be wiped out . The model is now " freshly washed and polished " back in my cabinet ... :)
