The convertible version of the famous gullwing model was built 1957-1963 .
The 6Zylinder- engine developed 215PS and that was enough for 260km / h . At the rear, a 100 liters fuel tank was installed .

The model of the version shown was determined ( contrary to the license plates ) for the US market , so the somewhat strange looking headlight
The role model for this beautiful model is likely to be the car that the famous racing driver Rudolf Caracciola had . He headed for his exit from the race a Mercedes- representation and drove such a vehicle .
