While working on the Golf I, the designer Giorgio Giugiaro had the idea to develop a sports coupe on the platform of golf. The then VW-Boss declined however .......
After further clarifications with the Karosseriewerk Karmann, the car was nevertheless built.
The technology came from the Golf I and the engines from Audi.
In April 1974 appeared the sleek Coupe (3 months before the golf) and became a great success.
Technology:
The GTI appeared in 1976 and had a 4 cylinder engine with 110 hp from the Audi 80 GTE.
The vehicle weighs only 800 kg and has a top speed of 185 km / h.
To the model:
Wonderfully implemented model of Revell. Faultless varnishing and very small gap.
All doors can be opened, which one at Revell otherwise rarely finds. The interior is very beautiful and detailed.
