The Barkas B1000 was a small transporter that played an important role in everyday life in the GDR. It was produced from 1961 to 1990 by VEB Barkas-Werke Karl-Marx-Stadt. It replaced the Barkas V901/2 and served in various areas, from ambulance services to crafts businesses and the police.
