In January 1993 Porsche presented the Carrera RSR 3.8, an extreme version of the 964 series Carrera RS. The car was equipped with a 3746cc (102x76.4) engine capable of delivering 325 horsepower at 6900 rpm in the standard version and approximately 375 horsepower. at 7400 rpm in the competition configuration. There were 45 units produced up to September 1994, in three variants (weight between 1100 and 1180 kg): ClubSport (M003), Touring (M004) and Competition (M005).
