Italian supercar on police duty – background on the real thing

The little model shown here is based on the Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4 Polizia, a special version of the V10 supercar used by the Italian traffic police, the Polizia Stradale. The Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4 Polizia is built on the Lamborghini Huracán line, which replaced the Gallardo. Technically the car comes from the first generation of the Huracán, whose production run is listed as 2014–2019. The Lamborghini Huracán is powered by a 5.2‑liter V10 naturally aspirated engine (5.2 liters (1.37 gallons)) with direct injection. In the LP‑610‑4 setup the unit produces 449 kW (610 PS) (602 hp) at 8,250 rpm and develops 560 Nm (413 lb‑ft) of torque. Power goes through a 7‑speed dual‑clutch gearbox to all four wheels, which is why the “4” is in the name. The chassis uses a mixed construction of aluminum and CFRP parts, and the brakes are carbon‑ceramic. No drivetrain changes for police use have been reported; the top speed of the Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4 Polizia remains above 320 km/h (199 mph), which is mainly useful for urgent transports or motorway patrols. The direct predecessor in service was the Gallardo Polizia, which Lamborghini already handed over to the Italian police in earlier years.

Special gear and livery of the real car

The Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4 Polizia stands out visually with the police blue “Azzurro Polizia” paint and large white panels. The doors are marked in block letters with “POLIZIA”, and you’ll also find the emergency number 113 and a website address. Several Polizia Stradale crests with the winged Pegasus appear on the front and rear. A low LED lightbar is mounted on the roof, with extra blue lights in the front and a siren system integrated. Inside there are radio and data radios, an onboard video recording system for traffic monitoring, navigation with tracking, and attachments for the “Provida” speed‑measurement gear. A well‑known addition is a refrigeration box in the front trunk for transporting blood bags or organs; there’s also an AED defibrillator on board. The Lamborghini Huracán keeps its factory driving systems like the variable all‑wheel coupling, electronically controlled dampers (depending on version) and multiple driving modes. The body styling — sharp LED headlights, trapezoid air intakes and hexagonal design cues — is preserved in the Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4 Polizia.

The model in the collection of „mihals“ — details and build

This pictured collector piece is from Modelly member “mihals” and is a model car in 1/18 scale made by Bburago. It’s diecast (zinc die‑cast), which gives it the usual solid weight and nicely formed body parts. The photos clearly show the Huracán’s shapes: the low front end, the flat main headlights with white trims, the pointy air intakes and the side crease. The roof lightbar is a separate part. The wheels echo the multi‑spoke look of the real car; the tires have a subtle tread sculpted in. The side “POLIZIA” text and the emergency number 113 are cleanly printed, and the small Polizia Stradale shields on the front wings and rear are reproduced too. At the back you can see the wide light strip, the four tailpipes and the stamped “Huracán” script on the license area. The interior is dark; you can make out the steering wheel, center tunnel and seat shapes. Altogether the miniature captures the Huracán’s proportions well. It’s a 1/18 diecast model by Bburago, a nice addition to themed police vehicle collections.

Paint, markings and how it reads at scale

The paint follows the typical two‑tone layout of the Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4 Polizia. The blue base coat is applied in broad areas, with white sections running from the front over the shoulder line to the rear. You can see crisp edges on the door graphics; the contrast stripe runs below the beltline and frames the side intakes. The fuel flap is hinted on the passenger side, and the mirror shells are body‑colored. The little Pegasus shield sticker on the side is visible; the big “POLIZIA” script sits under the rear light bar. The proportions of the front splitter, side skirts and diffuser follow the real car; the panel gaps are even, as you’d expect from diecast manufacturing. Collectors can instantly tell which service car this is: the Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4 Polizia, belonging to the first generation of the line from 2014–2019. The model is a diecast 1/18 police vehicle by Bburago, displayed in “mihals”’s cabinet among other modern Italian service cars.
