BMW 7 Series G11/G12 as the basis for the GT Spirit model

The collector’s piece owned by Modelly member “neophyte1410” is based on the BMW M760Li xDrive (G12), the long-wheelbase version of the seventh-generation 7 Series. This generation is known as G11/G12 and was built from 2015 to 2022; G11 refers to the 7 Series with the standard wheelbase, while G12 is the version stretched by 140 millimeters (5.5 inches). The predecessor of the BMW M760Li xDrive (G12) was the BMW 7 Series from the F01/F02 series, whose long-wheelbase version also offered extra room in the rear. The BMW M760Li xDrive (G12) sat at the top of the range from 2016 onward and combined the long wheelbase with a V12 engine and xDrive all-wheel drive. The body design of the G11/G12 series was led by Nader Faghihzadeh, who was responsible at BMW for designing this 7 Series generation, among other projects. The technical development was handled within the BMW Group, with lightweight construction, driver assistance, and connectivity being some of the key focus areas. The model name “THE 7” on the front license plate of the miniature car refers to BMW’s name for the 7 Series.

V12 tech and equipment in the BMW M760Li xDrive

The BMW M760Li xDrive (G12) is powered by the 6.6-liter (402.6-cubic-inch) N74B66 twin-turbo V12 gasoline engine. In the European version, the engine makes 448 kW (610 hp) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. Power is sent through an 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission from ZF, paired with the fully controlled xDrive all-wheel-drive system. BMW quoted a 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) time of 3.7 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph); with the M Driver’s Package, 305 km/h (190 mph) was possible. Alongside the V12 hardware, the BMW M760Li xDrive (G12) got M-specific aerodynamic parts, a sport exhaust system, and Integral Active Steering. The 7 Series also used the “Carbon Core” structure: a mixed build of steel, aluminum, and carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic in the passenger cell area. Depending on the market, options could include Executive Lounge, a Panorama Glass Roof Sky Lounge, a Bowers & Wilkins sound system, laser headlights, remote parking, and a wide range of rear-seat entertainment features. So the BMW M760Li xDrive (G12) was a technically unique version of the luxury sedan, not just a trim package.

GT Spirit BMW M760Li in 1/18 scale

In the photos, you can see a model car in 1/18 scale made by GT Spirit. This 1/18 scale model by GT Spirit recreates the proportions of a long BMW 7 Series sedan with a low roofline, a stretched rear door section, and a short front overhang. The miniature is made from diecast material and features a fixed body. The doors, hood, and trunk lid are shown closed in the pictures, so the focus is on the exterior shape, glazing, and visible interior details. What really stands out are the deep black twin kidney grille, the slim headlights, and the large lower air intakes of the M-sport-style front bumper. The BMW roundel on the hood and the small BMW logos on the wheel hubs are visible too. The wheels have a multi-spoke, two-tone design; based on the photos, there’s no need to pin them down to a specific production wheel. From the camera angles, you can also make out the mirrors, door handles, window trim, side skirts, brake disc details, and the roof opening.

Paint finish, interior, and limited edition of the collector’s model

The body of the GT Spirit model is painted in a gray-beige metallic shade that shifts between silver, brown, and graphite tones under the warm lighting. The paint finish really brings out the sculpted lines on the hood, front fenders, and doors. Black contrast parts show up around the kidney grille, lower air intakes, window surrounds, and side skirts. Even with the dark glazing, the red interior is still easy to see: the front seats, rear seats, center console, steering wheel, and parts of the dashboard are visible. The large dark sunroof stands out as a rectangular panel against the metallic paint. The mix of long wheelbase, dark wheels, red seats, and a restrained exterior color gives the model a strong presence in a 1/18 collection; the effect mainly comes from the contrast and the clearly defined body shape. For collectors, the production number is also important: Limited edition – 1 of 999 pieces worldwide. That makes the BMW 7 Series miniature shown by “neophyte1410” part of a limited GT Spirit release.
