The pictured collectible is based on the race car used by the French team Larbre Compétition, which raced in the GTE‑Am class of the FIA WEC and at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The technical and formal basis is the Chevrolet Corvette C7.R, which was derived from the road version of the Corvette 7th generation and was built from 2013–2019. The Chevrolet Corvette C7.R was developed jointly by Chevrolet Performance and the US racing specialist Pratt & Miller. On the production side, Tadge Juechter (Chief Engineer Corvette) and Tom Peters (Design Director) played key roles; their work also shaped the race‑specific body architecture of the Chevrolet Corvette C7.R. Larbre’s car traditionally ran with the number 50 and used the robust characteristics of the Chevrolet Corvette C7.R for endurance racing. The predecessor in factory motorsport was the C6.R, and the designers built on that experience when they moved to the Chevrolet Corvette C7.R.

The Chevrolet Corvette C7.R has an aluminum spaceframe chassis with glued and bolted structural parts and a carbon‑fiber bodywork. Under the hood sits a regulation‑restricted 5.5‑liter V8 naturally aspirated engine (5.5 liters (335.6 cu in / 1.45 US gal)), which, depending on Balance of Performance, produces roughly 490 to 515 PS (about 483–507 hp). A sequential 6‑speed gearbox from Xtrac, dry‑sump lubrication, adjustable anti‑roll bars and double‑wishbone suspension all around with push‑rod actuation are standard on the Chevrolet Corvette C7.R. There are Brembo brake systems with ventilated steel discs, traction control, an FIA safety cage and a 120‑liter FT3 safety tank (120 liters (31.7 US gallons)). The lightweight design of the Chevrolet Corvette C7.R results in a race weight of around 1,240 kg (2,734 lb); on the Hunaudières straight it can reach speeds beyond 290 km/h (180 mph), depending on wing settings and BoP. Aerodynamic elements like split front splitters, large wheelhouse vents, a deep diffuser and a wide rear wing provide downforce and stability for endurance tracks.

The Chevrolet Corvette C7.R was widely present in endurance racing. In the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship the factory team scored multiple titles and in 2015 won the GTE‑Pro class at Le Mans. Notable drivers of the Chevrolet Corvette C7.R include Oliver Gavin, Tommy Milner, Antonio García, Jan Magnussen and Jordan Taylor. Wins at the 24 Hours of Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring show the car’s endurance capability. These results are also down to the mature chassis setup and the reliable powertrain, which delivered steady power under long‑duration stress. Thanks to close cooperation between Chevrolet and Pratt & Miller – founded by Gary Pratt and Jim Miller – the Chevrolet Corvette C7.R was continuously developed to match changing rules.

Larbre Compétition ran the Chevrolet Corvette C7.R in the GTE‑Am category, which is for pro‑am driver lineups. In 2016 the team entered the 24 Hours of Le Mans with car number 50; that particular car’s drivers included Jean‑Philippe Belloc, Pierre Ragues and Yutaka Yamagishi.
