BMW M5 G90 of the generation since 2024

The prototype for this miniature vehicle is the BMW M5 (G90), the sedan version of the eighth M5 generation G90, which has been built since 2024. It follows the BMW M5 (F90) from the 2017 to 2023 model years. The BMW M5 (G90) is technically based on the BMW 5 Series G60, but it stands out thanks to M-specific body shapes, the drivetrain, and a modified suspension setup. Typical features include the wide front end with horizontally divided BMW kidney grilles, the slim lights, the far-out side air intakes, and the sculpted side skirts. Compared with the previous model, the BMW M5 (G90) is the first to use a plug-in hybrid drivetrain. Its body is around 5.10 meters (16.7 feet) long; the concept combines a four-door sedan with a performance-focused drivetrain and electric driving range for shorter trips.

V8 plug-in hybrid, M xDrive, and suspension tech

In the BMW M5 (G90), the 4.4-liter V8 twin-turbo S68 works together with an electric motor integrated into the eight-speed M Steptronic transmission. Total system output is 535 kW (727 hp), and maximum system torque is 1,000 Nm (737 lb-ft). BMW quotes a 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) sprint time of 3.5 seconds; the standard top speed is 250 km/h (155 mph) and can be raised to 305 km/h (190 mph) with the M Driver’s Package. The lithium-ion battery has a usable capacity of 18.6 kWh. Depending on equipment and test method, the BMW M5 (G90) offers an electric range of about 67 to 69 kilometers (41.6 to 42.9 miles) according to WLTP. The technical setup includes M xDrive all-wheel drive, an active M differential on the rear axle, integral active steering, and electronically controlled dampers. A mode with pure rear-wheel drive is also available. The hybrid system increases the vehicle’s weight quite a bit; curb weight is around 2.4 tonnes (5,291 pounds).

Black Minichamps model in neophyte1410’s collection

The collectible shown here from Modelly member “neophyte1410” is a model car in 1/18 scale, made by Pauls Modell Art / Minichamps. The miniature is made from die-cast material and represents the sedan version of the BMW M5 (G90). The dark, black-looking metallic paint shows fine reflections on the hood, roof, doors, and fenders when light hits it. It also highlights the edges of the front hood, the shoulder line, and the trim around the air intakes. Up front, you can spot the BMW roundel on the hood, the large kidney grille, and a small M5 badge in the right grille area. The license plate “M CL 798E” follows a German-style format. The black multi-spoke wheels, dark window surrounds, side mirrors, and deeply sculpted front spoiler fit the understated color scheme. It’s really the combo of the dark paint, clearly defined lights, and the small M badges that gives the model its clean, restrained look.

Opening features and visible details of the 1/18 BMW M5

The photos show all four doors, the hood, and the trunk lid open. That makes the functional body seams and the miniature’s hinges visible. Under the open hood is a detailed engine bay with covers and color-accented parts; the open trunk shows the sedan’s cargo area. Through the front and side windows, you can also see the dark interior, including the dashboard, steering wheel, center console, and seats. The door panels have molded grab areas, and the side mirrors feature a textured, carbon-like surface. This model car in 1/18 scale, made by Pauls Modell Art / Minichamps, therefore captures not only the exterior proportions of the BMW M5 (G90) but also gives a look at the interior, trunk, and power unit through the open sections. The photographed display on light-colored fabric makes the shape of the front bumper, wheel-and-tire setup, and sculpted hood stand out clearly.
